About The Position
The Assistant Director of Nursing Services (ADON) reports to and supports the Director of Nursing Services (DON). This role works closely with residents, families, physicians, and other members of the interdisciplinary team to ensure that residents receive high-quality, patient-centered care.
Requirements
- Maryland RN license
- 2+ years RN experience
Nice To Haves
- Experience in long-term care environments strongly preferred
- BSN preferred
Responsibilities
- Participate in regular reviews to identify improvement opportunities to nursing service.
- Supervise delivery of treatments to residents.
- Develop and maintain staff schedules.
- Lead performance evaluations for LPNs / LVNs.
- Assist in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring nursing staff.
- Meet with prospective and current residents to discuss any issues or needs.
- Review pre-admission medical evaluations for residents.
- Assist in collecting resident personal information for admission.
- Evaluate resident functioning levels.
- Participate in resident health maintenance meetings.
- Coordinate with physicians and other healthcare providers to update care plans.
- Directly supervise nursing personnel in the absence of the DON.
- Perform staff nurse duties when required.
- Assist in developing improvement plans when needed.
