About The Position

We're seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) / MDS Coordinator to join our growing team! This leadership role is essential to ensuring high-quality resident care, accurate clinical assessments, regulatory compliance, and strong support for our nursing team. Success in this position requires excellent clinical judgment, strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams.

Requirements

  • Current nursing license in good standing with the State Board of Nursing.
  • Experience in long-term care or geriatric nursing.
  • Experience with MDS assessments, care planning, and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong leadership, communication, assessment, and organizational skills.
  • Understanding of federal and state nursing home regulations.
  • Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work well independently while collaborating effectively with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Passionate about improving resident outcomes through quality clinical care.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Director of Nursing with the daily operations of the nursing department while providing leadership and support to clinical staff.
  • Oversee admission, annual, quarterly, Medicare, and significant change MDS assessments while ensuring timely completion and communication with nursing and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, therapy, and consultants to develop and update resident-centered care plans.
  • Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and company regulations related to nursing services, MDS, documentation, and resident care.
  • Review resident records, MDS assessments, and care plans for accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance.
  • Participate in Performance Improvement initiatives, Quality Measures, Infection Prevention, and other quality assurance programs.
  • Coordinate care plan meetings, Medicare meetings, and interdisciplinary discussions to promote continuity of care.
  • Assist with hiring, training, coaching, scheduling, evaluating, and supporting nursing staff while promoting a positive team culture.
  • Provide direct clinical support and assist with floor staffing when needed to ensure quality resident care.
  • Generate quality reports, submit MDS assessments accurately and on time, and communicate findings with facility leadership.
  • Help maintain adequate nursing supplies, equipment, and resources needed to support resident care.
  • Stay current on industry regulations, best practices, and MDS requirements through ongoing education.
