About The Position

The Village of Millers Creek located in Ajax, Ontario has an exciting opportunity for a Full-Time Assistant Director of Nursing Care to join their team. This role involves supporting and embracing a resident-centered social culture and delivering the highest quality of clinical care. Assistant Directors of Nursing Care work as key members of the leadership team to support self-directed nursing and clinical team members in bringing to life clinical programs and quality outcomes that focus on flexible living and quality of life. They support the clinical and nursing team in HR-related functions, track and analyze trends, drive quality assurance initiatives, and participate in Village-wide committees and working groups. They also support multidisciplinary teams in understanding residents’ individual needs, provide clinical leadership and guidance, advocate for residents, and provide training and education to the clinical team, managing inventory and supplies. They foster exemplary relationships with residents, families, and the Village team to deliver holistic care and provide specialized clinical services and expertise.

Requirements

  • Possess a current registration as a Registered Nurse (RN) with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Hold current Heart Save Level of CPR.
  • Have three (3) years of experience leading and directing department(s) in a healthcare setting.

  • Display a caring and respectful attitude toward our residents, families, and team members.
  • Understand the physical, mental, and emotional demands of the Assistant Director of Nursing Care role.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a Long-Term Care or Retirement Home setting
  • RNAO/RPNAO membership.
  • MDS credentialed (Optional dependent on Village size).
  • An awareness and understanding of infection control practices, workplace hazardous materials and chemicals (WHMIS), as well as, all relevant health and safety procedures.
  • Skill in operating common hand and power tools.

  • Foster exemplary relationships with residents, their families and the Village team to deliver holistic care to our residents and provide specialized clinical services and expertise.
