About The Position

The Assistant Director of Media Operations is tasked with assisting the Director of Media Operations in the daily duties of the Media Operations Department. This person must be self-motivated and can multi-task. This person will help in pre-planning for events and projects. This person will help the Director of Media Operations in the advancement of the department to help better serve the university’s needs. This person will be responsible for assisting with the audio, video, and lighting aspects of the Media Operations Department and help in supervising student workers that are assigned to the department.

Requirements

  • Visual Abilities: Read equipment manuals, see details in video displays, and use a computer system.
  • Hearing: Hear well enough to communicate with co-workers, vendors, students and mix audio in different environments.
  • Dexterity, Grasping, Feeling, Write, type and use audio/visual equipment, the telephone, copier, and computer systems.
  • Mobility: Ability to move between locations on campus for different events. Also, be able to climb heights up to 50 feet.
  • Talking: Frequently convey detailed or important instructions and ideas accurately, loudly, or quickly.
  • Lifting, Pulling, pushing: Exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Cognitive/Emotional: Ability to critically think and concentrate. Must be able to respond quickly to changes in conditions 75 to 100% of the time.
  • Prefer B.A degree in a Broadcast or Digital Media area or pursuing a degree in Broadcast or Digital Media.
  • Prefer experience in broadcast media or at least a working knowledge of Broadcast or Digital Media.
  • Member in good standing at a local evangelical church.
  • Affirm an understanding and not advocate against the Baptist Faith & Message 2000.

  • Agree to abide by the employee handbooks, including community standards agreements
  • Self-motivated, organized, disciplined, creative, able to multitask, have an eye for detail, and be willing to work within strict deadlines.
  • Proficient in current non-linear video editing applications or the ability to learn quickly about these systems.
  • Knowledgeable of operating professional video cameras.
  • Experience in live video streaming and on-demand content management.
  • Experience or willingness to learn Social Media content development.
  • Knowledge and ability to work with basic Microsoft and presentation software’s and applications
  • Working knowledge of stage/broadcast lighting for live/video production.
  • Working knowledge of graphic and stage design.
  • Maintain physical ability and stamina to meet position requirements.
  • A positive outlook, reflected in a sense of shared ministry
  • Willing to be certified in appropriate media software.

Responsibilities

  • Coordination of the video side of Media Operations to include but not limited to: All services that require Image Magnification or presentations on screens.
  • Supervise students in the preproduction, production, and post-production of video projects.
  • Take care of managing video projects that are assigned to the Media Ministry.
  • Oversee the editing of the postproduction for the online portion of the NGU Media Operations Department.
  • Handle the scheduling of staff for all events handled by the Media Operations Department.
  • Assist the Director of Media Operations in the recruitment and hiring of student workers for all aspects of the Media Department.
  • Assist the Director of Media Operations in the development of an ongoing training program that will prepare all student workers for the different tasks that are needed for the efficient day-to-day operation of the Media Operations Department.
  • Assist the Director of Media Operations in the supervision of the Media staff.
  • Oversee the graphics area in enhancing worship experiences through graphics
  • Oversee the projectionist in the development and implementing of projection projects
  • Oversee the Stage Design team in designing stage layout and lighting for the different events in the chapel and other designated venues on campus.
  • Assist with the media as needed for the summer ministry programs of Fuge camps and other camps.
  • Assist the Director of Media Operations in the preventative maintenance and repair of A/V equipment throughout the campus.
  • Responsible for updating and maintaining the department's inventory documentation.
  • Assist in the research and implementation of new equipment on campus (i.e. traveling groups and new facilities).
  • Stay up to date with the latest broadcasting techniques and trends
  • Maintain the CCLI reporting database
  • Lead the staff in a manner that brings glory to GOD in all that they do.
