About The Position

The Assistant Director of Football Equipment Operations supports the daily management and operation of football equipment services for the University of Arkansas Football program. This position assists in preparing football Nike orders and purchase orders; submit for approval and processing, modifying selection, quantities and embellishments of apparel, shoes, accessories and protective equipment, and ensure proper fitting of football equipment (e.g., helmets, shoulder pads, etc.). They will distribute equipment to student-athletes, staff and others. Ensure measures are followed for proper equipment inventory control and record keeping with the mission of documenting all transactions of ordering, receiving and distribution of equipment. Ensure student athletes’ uniforms are in compliance with NCAA and SEC regulations and policies. Properly issue equipment through Equipment Manager Software and label applicable articles of equipment with recipients’ appropriate cloth label. Ensure adherence to NCAA, SEC, University of Arkansas and Athletic Department rules and regulations. Ensure laundry operations are properly conducted; coordinate laundry rotation schedules and hold student managers accountable. Delegate daily responsibilities and operations to managers and graduate assistant. Conduct field set-up and equipment operations for all Football practices and home/away games. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education in Sports Management or related field
  • At least three years' of progressively responsible experience in athletic equipment operations, including experience supporting football at the collegiate, professional, or equivalent level
  • Experience with athletic equipment procurement, ordering, inventory management, and distribution
  • Experience fitting football equipment in accordance with applicable safety standards and manufacturer guidelines
  • Athletic Equipment Manager's Association (AEMA) Certification OR ability to obtain certification within one year of hire
  • Experience with computerized inventory management system
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency and ability to learn new software and technology systems
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as required by the football calendar
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree or higher from accredited institution of higher education in related field
  • Current Athletic Equipment Managers Association (AEMA) Certification
  • Experience working in NCAA Division I Football or professional football equipment operations
  • Experience using ACS Inventory Manager or similar inventory management software
  • Experience ordering on Nike’s “Gameday” purchasing platform
  • Experience operating CoachComm communication systems and practice technologies
