About The Position
The Lofton Hotel, a premier, top-ranked hotel in Minneapolis and the first Tapestry Collection property in Minnesota, is seeking a talented Assistant Director of Finance. This role offers an exciting and fulfilling career opportunity to oversee the administration of accounting operations, ensure the timely and accurate production of financial statements, analyze financial performance, and champion the implementation of best practices. The Assistant Director of Finance will play a vital part in the mission to redefine hospitality excellence.
Requirements
- Previous experience with and knowledge of hospitality accounting systems.
- Experience in a high-volume hospitality company.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or hotel management.
- Proficient in computer systems and programs such as PeopleSoft and Excel.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Excellent supervisory and leadership abilities.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to collaborate across departments, meet deadlines, and represent the company professionally.
Nice To Haves
- CPA designation preferred.
Responsibilities
- Reconcile General Ledger accounts and bank statements.
- Maintain and troubleshoot mainframe computer systems and network, including program installations and updates.
- Schedule and conduct monthly House Bank audits.
- Assist in preparing financial forecasts and budgets.
- Prepare monthly financial statements, journal entries, accruals, and accounting records.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Controller based on departmental needs.
- Supervise staff in compiling month-end closing reports and review accuracy of forecasts and variance reports.
- Calculate and prepare daily deposit transmittals for received checks.
