To assist the Director of Engineering in maintaining the entire hotel facility, including the physical building structure, all mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems, and related equipment in accordance with energy conservation and preventative maintenance programs. Ensure the upkeep of guest areas to maintain an attractive hotel.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in specialized fields or higher
  • Experience: Previous experience in engineering managerial role is preferred
  • Excellent organizational and computer skills.

  • Ability to multitask, work in a fast-paced environment and have a high-level attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.

  • Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Must have thorough knowledge of all types of mechanical equipment such as chillers, boilers, water softeners, and refrigeration equipment.
  • Must have thorough knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems, maintenance of records of power, water and fuel consumption.
  • Must have experience in office procedures, ordering materials, securing bids, city codes and other applicable building laws, building construction, blueprint reading, etc.
  • Working knowledge of federal, state and local laws
  • Must have excellent communication skills. Must be able to receive instructions and make reports with accuracy.
  • Must show basic computer proficiency such as with MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.)
  • Must be knowledgeable about applicable laws regarding the operation of hotels and restaurants.
  • 2000 hours of supervised work experience in HVAC / Refrigeration
  • 06A specialty electrician's license
  • Boiler operator grade V
  • Experience with Johnson Controls Metasys and/or 410 Metasys Basic Operator, Metasys Tech Program/Advanced Technician

Responsibilities

  • Conduct walk-throughs and visually assess the safe and efficient maintenance and operation of the physical structure(s) of the hotel, all mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems and any other related equipment.
  • Verify completion of all routine maintenance on public spaces, meeting rooms, ballrooms, outlets, back of the house spaces, and grounds. Verify completion of all repairs, replacement, and renovation projects to guest areas, offices and employee work areas.
  • Assist in hiring, training, supervising, and disciplining department staff and all other staff under direction of the Engineering Department.
  • Adhere to all corporate-required purchasing policies and controls, including, but not limited to, all outside contractor bids, budgets, and schedules. Follow prescribed safety procedures for personnel and equipment by the company and OSHA.
  • Assist in maintaining effective Energy Management and Preventive Maintenance programs and conduct special training for other operating departments on the safe and efficient use of equipment and energy in the hotel.
  • Inform the Director of Engineering and hotel department heads on a regular basis regarding the specific and overall condition of the building structure(s), related systems, and equipment offering prudent, cost effective proposals for maintaining these systems. Access and input information into a computer and generate reports.
  • Maintain a close, cooperative relationship with other departments to guarantee effective communication.
  • Supervise employees' compliance with sanitation, cleanliness, fire prevention, health and safety standards.
  • Supervise and maintain the availability, cleanliness and tidiness of items used in the department.
  • Represent Lotte Hotel’s service standards to all customers and provide them with distinguished services.
  • Respond to customer requests promptly and with accuracy
  • Predict customer needs and strive to resolve complaints
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge concerning hotel services in communicating with customers
  • Protect the privacy and security of guests and coworkers.
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary materials and information.
  • Follow company and department policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to cash handling policies and procedures stipulated in the Cashier Bank Contract
  • Ensure uniform, nametags, and personal appearance are clean, hygienic, professional and in compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.
