About The Position

The Goddard School is seeking a passionate Assistant Director of Education to support instructional excellence and help teachers deliver engaging, meaningful learning experiences. This role is ideal for an instructional leader who thrives in the classroom, enjoys coaching teachers, and is ready to grow into a key leadership role. The Assistant Director of Education partners with the Center Director and leadership team to ensure consistent delivery of a high-quality educational program. This role focuses on curriculum implementation, teacher development, and creating engaging learning environments aligned with Goddard standards. You will be a hands-on leader - present in classrooms, supporting teachers, and ensuring developmentally appropriate, high-quality instruction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Elementary Education, or related field (strongly preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field with early childhood coursework (18 semester hours)
  • Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or related field with leadership experience
  • Associate degree in related field with progressive childcare experience
  • 1+ year leadership or management experience (childcare preferred)
  • Strong understanding of early childhood development
  • Ability to model classroom instruction
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Compliance with Ohio Administrative Code 5101:2-12-07
  • Completion of required trainings

  • Experience coaching teachers preferred

Responsibilities

  • Implementation of Wonder of Learning™ curriculum
  • Conduct classroom observations and provide coaching and feedback
  • Review lesson plans and support assessment cycles
  • Guide child observation and individualized learning
  • Coach, mentor, and support teachers to improve practice
  • Lead onboarding and ongoing professional development
  • Foster a positive, growth-focused teaching culture
  • Communicate educational value to families
  • Ensure learning is visible through classroom experiences
  • Support family conferences and engagement
  • Partner on tours, enrollment, and transitions
  • Support retention through strong program quality
  • Ensure classrooms meet licensing and QA standards
  • Maintain accurate student records and documentation
  • Stay current on regulations and implement updates
