We’re looking for an Assistant Director of Dining Services to help manage the dining program, ensuring exceptional quality of food for residents and guests. This role involves continuous training on safety, sanitation, and culinary programs.

Requirements

  • High school graduation or GED required.
  • Management experience required.
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) plus the willingness to learn other computer programs if required.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • CPR, First Aid, and AED certified
  • Must conduct all business with a professional manner and with a high level of confidentiality.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record as specified by the Company and by the Company’s automobile insurance carrier.
  • Certified in ServSafe within the past 2 years.

Nice To Haves

  • Two or Four year college or university degree desired.
  • Two years' experience in a similar management position desired.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises the recruitment, employment, performance, evaluation, promotion and discharge of the dining staff.
  • Implements and monitors the food services operating budget.
  • Monitors equipment and inventories food and supplies to assure the security and safety of the dietary department.
  • Assists in the servicing of equipment and performs sanitation inspections regularly.
  • Ensures (firsthand) that food is prepared, tasted and served at proper temperatures according to the preferences of residents and to the highest industry standards.
  • Visits members, families and guests in the dining room(s) and in their residences to solicit feedback regarding the quality of the food and service.
  • Participates in the Monthly Dining Services Committee meetings soliciting comments from the members/residents on food quality and services.
  • Sets service standards for and regularly monitors dining room service staff regarding the safe, courteous delivery of meals to dining residents.
  • Creates or seeks ideas and means to improve the standards of service and food quality.
  • Creates sanitation programs/schedules including daily, weekly and monthly cleaning schedules and sanitation inspections.
  • Operates the dining program in healthcare in compliance with all regulations from federal, state, or any other governmental agencies having jurisdiction over the campus.
  • Prepares work schedules for healthcare dining services department and records PTO requests and vacation days taken.
  • Periodic travel may be required for training sessions, continuing education opportunities, emergency situations, and other company functions.
  • Responsible for knowledge of fire and safety procedures including those involving blood-borne pathogens.
  • Remains in proper attire at all times and maintains a high standard of appearance.
  • Participates in professional improvement workshops, seminars and meetings which allow continued education on current affairs in retirement community management or food service.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
