About The Position

Meriwether Godsey is seeking an Assistant Director of Dining Services at a private co-educational college preparatory boarding and day school located in Gill, MA. This role will focus heavily on catering operations, in addition to managing the retail segments of the account. Requirements

  • Associate's Degree or similar discipline, or 3-4 years of related experience in contract dining/college campus dining management experience
  • 3-5 years of catering experience
  • 3-5 years of retail operations experience
  • ServSafe® Certification, principles of food production techniques
  • Principles of information technology to include email, internet, Microsoft Office products, accounting and timekeeping software, and HR management Systems.
  • Participative management style and excellent leadership skills
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Account and Project Management Skills
  • Knowledge of food safety (HACCP), sanitation, and overall workplace safety standards.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment while fostering strong client and customer relationships
  • Proficiency and growing knowledge of sustainable practices

Responsibilities

  • Support account activities to ensure operations run smoothly and efficiently and reflect the MG brand.
  • Support all cost control practices via advanced planning and costing activities and management/department budget adherence.
  • Lead by example; engaging and developing direct reports and team members through ongoing support, monitoring, coaching, and feedback.
  • Assist in leading teams in preparing meals while embracing fresh, local, scratch; support and/or manage menu development, purchasing, and production, incorporating the latest trends and practices.
  • Support high-end catering, including booking, planning, execution, and communication.
  • Foster an inclusive environment for all staff and guests; maintain effective client and customer-centric relationships.
  • Maintain HACCP standards and a healthy environment for clients, customers, and employees.
  • Support personnel-related functions, including recruitment, interviewing, hiring, growth and development of team members, performance monitoring, and training.
  • Catering will be the huge focus of this role, in addition to running the retail segments of the account.
