About The Position

Performs the administrative duties of planning, organizing, directing, and coordinating special development efforts. Responsibilities may include: cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of individual, foundation, and corporate support for the TTU/System; adherence to the prospect management system; and plans, coordinates and evaluates development goals. Responsible for fiscal management of development goals. Work is performed under general supervision with broad latitude for initiative.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree plus one year development or sales experience
  • A combination of education and/or related experience to equal five years

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage a portfolio of 100–150 major gift prospects and donors, cultivating meaningful relationships that align with the university's strategic priorities and philanthropic initiatives
  • Identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward prospective and current major gift donors through strategic engagement, annual giving initiatives, and personalized fundraising plans
  • Collaborate with the Assistant Vice President of External Relations, TTU System Office, faculty, and institutional leadership to identify, research, and develop new major gift prospects
  • Prepare compelling fundraising proposals, grant applications, and other solicitation materials to secure philanthropic support for university priorities
  • Achieve established annual fundraising performance metrics, including donor contacts, visits, portfolio penetration, solicitations, and other development goals
  • Manage grant administration and endowment stewardship by ensuring compliance, monitoring expenditures, preparing required reports, and maintaining donor intent
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of donor interactions, fundraising activities, stewardship efforts, and gift records in the donor management system in accordance with institutional policies and best practices
  • Partner with alumni engagement, donor relations, faculty, and staff to develop and implement donor cultivation, recognition, and stewardship opportunities that strengthen long-term philanthropic relationships
  • Represent Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center at university, alumni, donor, and community events, serving as a professional ambassador for the institution
