About The Position

The Assistant Director of Development in Jefferson's Office of Institutional Advancement will collaborate with their manager, clinical and academic faculty and staff to engage in grateful patient fundraising. They will maintain an active portfolio of new prospects and some existing donors, taking them through the full donor cycle of identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, gift closure, and stewardship. Responsible for meeting defined metrics and goals annually including number of proposals presented and funded, meaningful donor encounters, and dollars raised.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree Required
  • 2 years experience in frontline fundraising
  • Experience Required 2 years
  • Experience with frontline fundraising in a healthcare and/or higher education preferred
  • This role is responsible for meeting defined metrics and goals annually including number of proposals presented (24 at $10K+) and funded (10 at $10K+), meaningful donor encounters (125), and dollars raised ($100K+)
  • Superior interpersonal skills and a capacity to engage, inspire, and persuade both internal and external constituents.
  • Experience with database software systems/CRM and Microsoft Office.

Nice To Haves

  • This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule with flexibility to work from home, but the incumbent must be available for in-person meetings as they arise, and with the ability and willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and manage a portfolio and communicate with alumni, patients and friends of Jefferson (phone calls, in-person meetings, emails) in a manner that fosters a relationship that leads to a philanthropic commitment.
  • Through internal meetings and activities, develop a comprehensive understanding of the educational, research, clinical, and capital needs and priorities of the Department(s) to articulate compelling cases for philanthropic support
  • Work with OIA centralized teams – Communications, Events, Research, Annual Fund, Planned Giving, etc – to advance donor relations.
  • Maintain proactive communications with colleagues to ensure effective collaborations and synergy in achieving key fundraising goals and objectives.
