About The Position

A leading healthcare organization is seeking an experienced and dynamic Associate Director of Nursing (ADON) to oversee the Internal Medicine and Surgery departments. This leadership role is responsible for driving clinical excellence, optimizing operational performance, and supporting the development of a high-performing nursing team. The ideal candidate brings a strong clinical background in medical-surgical nursing, along with demonstrated success in leadership, staff development, and quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New York
• Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN): Minimum 5 years of nursing experience, including 3+ years in a leadership, supervisory, or teaching role OR Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN): Minimum 6 years of nursing experience, including 4+ years in a leadership, supervisory, or teaching role
• Strong background in Internal Medicine and Medical-Surgical nursing practices

Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate nursing operations across Internal Medicine and Surgical units
• Ensure delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care and positive clinical outcomes
• Lead, mentor, and evaluate nursing staff
• Identify skill gaps and implement targeted training and development programs
• Ensure adherence to regulatory standards, accreditation requirements, and internal policies
• Drive continuous quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
• Manage staffing models, scheduling, and departmental resources
• Support budget planning and cost-effective operations
• Partner with physicians, leadership teams, and support departments
• Enhance patient flow, care coordination, and service delivery
