About The Position

The Assistant Director of Development, Leadership Giving is charged with maximizing revenues from leadership fundraising initiatives, including capital, DeLoss Dodds Leadership Team, the United Texas Circle, endowed and planned giving opportunities. This will be accomplished in accordance with all Federal, State, NCAA, Conference and Institutional Regulations. This position is designated as an Administrative Officer and serves without a fixed term and at the pleasure of the President, pursuant to Regents Rule 20102 and the University’s Handbook of Operating Procedures 1-1020, “Officers of Administration.”

Requirements

Bachelor's degree.
One year of experience assisting with fundraising or sales programs.
Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Professional demeanor.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Ability to project the image of the University of Texas and the Athletics Department with dignity and grace regardless of circumstances and environments.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Class "C" operator's driver's license.
Provide a current three year driving record from the current state of residence.
If not currently a Texas resident, a Texas driver's license must be obtained within 30 days of becoming a Texas resident.

Nice To Haves

Master's degree.
Two years of experience assisting with fundraising or sales programs.
Affiliation with the University of Texas at Austin and/or as a former student-athlete or alumni.

Responsibilities

Develop and manage a portfolio of 100 -150 major gift prospects focusing on solicitations of $100,000 and above with mature prospects.
Conduct at least 200 strategic in-person moves with prospects and donors per year, and participate in a minimum of 20 solicitations per year.
Serve as lead for projects and assignments in support of leadership giving priorities and fundraising goals.
Aggressively identify, and formally qualify, new major and planned gift prospects by developing and executing long-range and short-range strategies and plans to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward prospects, producing a continuous stream of donors capable of making gifts of $100,000 or more to the Longhorn Foundation.
Support annual fund initiatives, including but not limited to season ticket sales and renewals, Longhorn Foundation membership, and The DeLoss Dodds Leadership Team membership program.
Collaborate with the Prospect Research, Management & Analysis team to assess prospects and develop strategies designed to realize the current and life-time giving potential of individual prospects.
Ensure consistent and appropriate contact, facilitate or make solicitations, and ensure effective stewardship.
Demonstrate and be a model of collaboration in the University of Texas - Austin development community, while representing the Longhorn Foundations values and its unique role at the University of Texas at Austin.
Have a comprehensive understanding of Texas Athletics priorities and make a persuasive verbal and written case for supporting key programs and projects, effectively matching the interests of prospects to specific Athletics Department needs.
Assist the Foundation leadership team in promoting an ethical culture supportive of campaign success and the overall strategic plan.
Consistently exemplify the core values and quality service standards of Texas Athletics.

Proactively seek guidance when unsure or unclear of a law, rule or policy applicable to you or your department/sport program.
Actively participate in assigned education and training programs.
Comply with all laws, policies, rules and regulations set forth by the Board of Regents of The University of Texas System, The University of Texas at Austin, NCAA, Conference, or other governing body, including state and federal laws.
Annually obtain prior written approval and report all outside activities and outside income.
Report knowledge of, or reasonable cause to believe, violation(s) of state or federal laws, policies, rules, or regulations of the University, Conference, or NCAA to IA ARMCS or IA HR.
Fully cooperate with any investigation by providing complete and accurate information when requested to do so by Texas Athletics and/or the NCAA and do not influence others in any way during an investigation.
