About The Position

The Assistant Director of Development, Corporate Relations serves as a strategic leader responsible for cultivating, securing, and stewarding corporate partnerships that advance the mission and priorities of the College of Nursing. This role focuses on building meaningful collaborations that support academic programs, research initiatives, workforce development, scholarships, and community engagement. Reporting to the College’s Senior Director of Advancement, the position drives impactful philanthropic and programmatic investments.

  • Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and one year of relevant experience

Nice To Haves

  • One to three years of major gift fundraising experience in corporate and foundation relations is strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience in a university or nonprofit environment.
  • General knowledge and understanding of business/economic environment.
  • Knowledge of fundraising principles, methods, and standards.
  • Demonstrated successful experience in prospect identification, relationship building, solicitation and stewardship.

  • The ability and willingness to travel. A valid driver license and good driving record are essential.
  • The ability to pay for expenses using your own personal credit card or funds and have them reimbursed is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Build and manage a portfolio of corporate prospects and partners of all capacities with a focus on proposals $25,000 and above.
  • Identify, cultivate, solicit and steward corporate prospects that align with the strategic priorities of the College of Nursing.
  • Assist in developing and executing tailored engagement strategies to secure funding for scholarships, academic programs, research, and capital initiatives.
  • Conduct research and make independent judgments regarding corporate prospects and industry partners to determine potential alignment and engagement strategies.
  • Prepare compelling proposals, presentations, and sponsorship packages that effectively communicate institutional priorities and partnership opportunities.
  • Provide guidance to university personnel regarding corporate funding sources, prospect research, proposal preparation, and solicitation, when appropriate.
  • Coordinate internal conference calls with Sponsored Research staff and other interested parties to discuss and develop strategies for major foundation-issued RFPs.
  • Collaborate where appropriate with other Corporate and Foundation Relations staff members across UF Foundation to coordinate College involvement with multi-unit prospects.
  • Maintain accurate records of corporate interactions, proposals, and gifts in accordance with university policies and procedures.
  • Prioritize the dean’s development efforts and optimize travel schedule.
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with corporate partners to advance the College’s mission and strategic initiatives.
  • Build a portfolio of fundraising prospects and strategically manage relationships utilizing a strategic moves management approach to yield maximum philanthropic support.
  • Actively monitor proposal progression, including processing letters of agreement, tracking proposals, meeting reporting deadlines, and responding to requests for additional information.
  • Facilitate corporate-sponsored programs such as internships, workforce development initiatives, continuing education opportunities, and research collaborations.
  • Properly handle leadership, annual gifts and pledges made to the University.
  • Determine fundraising and alumni policies as they pertain to the development.
  • Coordinate and oversee campus visits for corporate representatives, engaging key stakeholders, building itineraries, and designing customized experiences.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the College of Nursing and corporate partners.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with healthcare organizations, corporations, and industry leaders.
  • Collaborate with development officers, faculty, and administrators to identify partnership opportunities that align with corporate interests.
  • Work closely with faculty and researchers to connect corporate partners with initiatives that support innovation and workforce needs.
  • Meet regularly with Corporate & Foundation Relations colleagues across UF Advancement to foster collaboration and ensure alignment with university-wide corporate strategy.
  • Develop and communicate best practices and offer targeted training to support growing corporate and foundation relationships.
  • Represent the College of Nursing at corporate meetings, industry events, and professional conferences.
