About The Position

The Assistant Director of Camp Administration directs the daily operations of Badger Sports Camps, including monitoring internal and external customer traffic, overseeing participant registration management system, marketing and promoting programs, and supervising event planning staff to ensure that operations run efficiently, economically, and in line with department goals and policy.

  • Ability to research existing systems or coordinate and oversee the development of camp personnel and registration systems.
  • Ability to understand policies and procedures related to youth protection and incorporate rules/regulations into the automated system.
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn IT security in relation to restricted data (HIPAA, FERPA, HR/SS employee data, PCI Compliance, etc).
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn graphic design software (InDesign, Photoshop)
  • Knowledge of system design and implementation best practices.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in Intercollegiate Athletics, camps, and/or sport operations.
  • Knowledge of camp registration and/or other personnel management systems.

Responsibilities

  • Establishes and executes day-to-day operational functions and goals of all Badger Sports Camps to align with existing strategy
  • Establishes and sustains relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Exercises supervisory authority, including hiring, training, managing conduct and performance, scheduling, and/or approving hours worked of student staff
  • Identifies, proposes, and implements new or revised department operational policies and procedures for Badger Sports Camps
  • Identifies, proposes, and implements new or revised unit operational policies and procedures
  • Monitors the budget and approves expenditures
  • Establishes and sustains relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Establishes and executes day-to-day operational functions and goals of events to align with existing strategy
  • May exercise supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 FTE or equivalent employees
