About The Position

Support the implementation of athletic operations, student eligibility processes, event coordination, transportation logistics, equipment management, and compliance with federal, state, University Interscholastic League (UIL), and local requirements. Work collaboratively with campus administrators, coaches, students, families, and community stakeholders to promote sportsmanship, student development, and safe, well-organized athletic programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Valid Texas teaching certificate
  • Clear and valid Texas driver's license
  • Five (5) years of successful teaching, coaching, or directly related athletics experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of district, state, UIL, and local requirements governing athletics, student eligibility, safety, and participation
  • Working knowledge of athletic program operations, including event coordination, scheduling, transportation logistics, officials, ticketing, facilities, and equipment
  • Working knowledge of budget monitoring, inventory control, purchasing processes, and records management related to athletic programs
  • Working knowledge of student management practices, sportsmanship expectations, and school-based communication practices
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills, emphasizing clarity and professionalism.
  • Advanced interpersonal and relationship-building skills to foster positive engagement with staff, students, families, and community partners
  • Ability to interpret and apply policy, procedures, and data to support sound decisions and effective operations
  • Ability to support budget management, resource allocation, and personnel-related processes

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and monitor assigned areas of the district athletic program
  • Support implementation of federal, state, State Board of Education, UIL, local board, and district requirements related to athletics
  • Monitor athletic program information, participation records, eligibility data, and evaluative findings to support continuous improvement in assigned areas
  • Collaborate with campus administrators, coaches, and department staff to support consistent athletic program implementation across assigned areas
  • Manage assigned athletic events and operations, including ticketing processes, officials, event staffing, facility preparation, and safety procedures
  • Attend district athletic contests and support event supervision as assigned
  • Prepare and recommend interscholastic game schedules for assigned sports or program areas
  • Coordinate transportation, lodging, meals, and related logistics for assigned out-of-town athletic events
  • Coordinate cleaning, sanitizing, repair, storage, inventory, and replacement of athletic equipment for assigned areas
  • Support implementation of district student management policies and athletic behavior expectations in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct and student handbook
  • Maintain open and professional communication with students, families, coaches, teachers, and campus administrators
  • Assist in developing, monitoring, and administering budgets for assigned areas based on documented needs and district procedures
  • Monitor assigned expenditures and support cost-effective operations and responsible use of district resources
  • Maintain accurate inventories of supplies and equipment and recommend disposal, repair, or replacement of equipment when needed
  • Compile, maintain, and submit required reports, records, and documentation for assigned athletic program areas
  • Assist with onboarding, training, work coordination, and performance feedback for assigned athletic department personnel
  • Provide input to the Director of Athletics regarding staff assignment, placement, evaluation, discipline, retention, and dismissal of assigned personnel
  • Support communication with coaches, staff, campus administrators, families, and community stakeholders to promote positive athletic program relationships
  • Support athletic booster club activities and community engagement efforts in coordination with the Director of Athletics
  • Adhere to all district policies, procedures, and expectations as outlined in the employee handbook and administrative regulations
  • Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures
  • Engage in strategic planning, leadership collaboration, and continuous professional growth aligned with the goals of the district and department
  • Perform additional duties assigned to support the mission and goals of the district department
  • Direct the work of assigned department staff
  • Provide input to the Director of Athletics regarding hiring, assignment, evaluation, and discipline of personnel
