About The Position

Bucks County Community College is seeking applicants for the position of Assistant Director of Associate Degree Nursing. This role assists in the coordination and implementation of the Associate Degree Nursing program and works closely with the Director of Associate Degree Nursing to support overall program success. The Assistant Director also works with new clinical faculty to ensure consistency in application of policies in the clinical setting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
  • Two years of teaching experience in an Associate Degree Nursing program (BCCC preferred).
  • Experience with ATI testing (champion status preferred).
  • Applicants must be permitted to legally work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with faculty and ADRN course coordinators to summarize activities at the end of the semester; provide recommendations to program faculty and director for data inclusion in annual reports to approving and accrediting agencies, accreditation standards and criteria, and yearly systematic plan of evaluation.
  • Collaborate with the ADRN111 and ADRN112 course faculty, director, administrative assistant, college staff, and invited learning support vendors to plan and implement the new student orientation. in August.
  • Collaborate with the ADRN212 course faculty, director, administrative assistant, college staff, and vendors to plan and implement the pinning ceremony in May and communicate with the college commencement committee.
  • Perform outreach to at-risk students to assess barriers to success during and between terms, provide guidance, and refer to Academic Success Center and for other appropriate student services, as needed.
  • Create semester-end and annual reports to comply with approving agency’s expectations. accreditation standards and criteria, and systematic plan of evaluation.
  • Coordinate requests for clinical affiliates in collaboration with clinical course faculty and Director; Collaborate with clinical course faculty and director to create student clinical rotation schedules; and Coordinate with administrative assistant for the timely and accurate transmission of clinical clearance and orientation documentation to clinical affiliates prior to start of clinical courses.
  • Serve as a mentor and resource for all PT clinical faculty.
  • In collaboration with course coordinator(s), create and implement orientation for new faculty through review of policy manuals, clinical course documentation, and clinical course syllabus; Maintain orientation and policy manuals for faculty.
  • Assist with other duties assigned by the director.
  • Collaborate with program faculty, director, administrative assistant, college departments, and community partners to promote student success through creation and implementation of self-care and wellness activities.
  • Maintain contact with alumni after graduation to promote adherence to NCLEX-RN® test preparation plan per established guidelines.
  • Gather end of program student learning outcome information to be shared as required.
  • Report pertinent clinical updates at monthly and annual program meetings.
  • Collaborate with class and clinical faculty, and/or simulation coordinator, to create clinical assignments and/or make-up assignments for students in all courses.
