About The Position

Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences (PNWU) is seeking an Assistant Director of Assessment Technology to oversee the functionality and utilization of assessment technology platforms. This full-time position involves researching, recommending, and implementing new platforms, providing input on integrations, and resolving software issues. The role also includes providing training and support to faculty, students, and staff, generating reports, aligning assessment technology needs across programs, managing course gradebooks, and scheduling, managing, and reporting on course and faculty evaluations. PNWU is a 501(c)(3) non-profit medical institution founded in 2005, located in Yakima, WA, offering degrees in Osteopathic Medicine, Physical Therapy, Dental Medicine, Biomedical Sciences, and Occupational Therapy. The university serves over 550 students annually with approximately 300 employees across a five-state region.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the essential functions of the position
  • 4-6 years of relevant experience
  • Skill in effective communication (both written and oral)
  • Skill in independent decision making
  • Skill in installation, repair, and maintenance of network and/or computer hardware, software, and peripherals
  • Skill in performing a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature
  • Skill in problem solving
  • Skill in public speaking
  • Skill in current and applicable computer programming languages relative to the assignment
  • Knowledge of computer and network operating systems
  • Knowledge of project management principles, processes, and techniques
  • Ability to operate relevant equipment required to complete assigned responsibilities for the position

Responsibilities

  • Manages curricular and assessment software programs.
  • Troubleshoots software issues, adds and removes users, manages permissions, and imports student demographic information.
  • Plans and implements assessment technology special projects.
  • Manages Course Gradebooks, as assigned.
  • Develops and implements software program trainings.
  • Creates training materials and standard operating procedures.
  • Provides individual and group support for academic assessment software programs.
  • Provides internal support for assessment technology needs and supports assessment staff.
  • Proctors student assessments and manage technical issues that arise during assessments.
  • Develops recommendations for new and existing software platforms for multiple academic programs.
  • Researches and recommends software for testing and assessment, assessment reporting, course grade display, student profile display, and programmatic reporting.
  • Researches and implements software platforms and technology processes to comply with approved accommodation requests.
  • Collaborates with program leaders and faculty to manage course and faculty evaluations.
  • Obtains and maintains NCTA Proctor Certification.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned and based on departmental need.
