About The Position

The Assistant Director of Annual Giving plays a key role in supporting the planning, execution, and growth of The Rivers Fund and the Rivers School Conservatory Annual Fund during a critical period of campaign preparation, appeals and volunteer engagement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 2+ years in fundraising, communications, marketing, or project management (independent school/higher-ed a plus).
  • Knowledge of fundraising principles and annual giving best practices.
  • Experience with donor management systems (Raiser’s Edge NXT and GiveCampus a plus).
  • Comfortable working with data and segmentation.
  • Self-starter able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication; able to influence and inspire.
  • Strong project management and organizational abilities.
  • Proficient with donor databases, Google Suite, and Microsoft Office.
  • Collaborative, team-oriented, and culturally competent.
  • Energetic, entrepreneurial, and mission-driven.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing, implementing, and evaluating strategies to reach Annual Fund goals
  • Oversee the production schedule and workflow for all Annual Giving appeals to ensure projects stay on schedule and on deadline.
  • Assist and support the execution of day-to-day annual giving operations, including producing and drafting segmented mailings, email appeals, and digital campaigns.
  • Partner with the engagement team to recruit and support senior and alumni class agents, including volunteer recruitment, committee formation, and goal setting.
  • Manage the development of Mailchimp email campaigns, including building, editing, testing, and managing approval workflows.
  • Create volunteer resources, including training materials, toolkits, scripts, call lists, and follow-up communications.
  • Work with Advancement Services to segment donor lists, prepare reports, and ensure accuracy of constituent data.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. Some evenings and weekends are required to support school and donor events.
