About The Position

The Assistant Director of Admissions at EHM Senior Solutions plays a crucial role in managing the admissions process, ensuring a seamless experience for prospective residents and their families. This position is responsible for fostering relationships with referral sources, maintaining accurate records, and supporting the overall strategic goals of the admissions department.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience with demonstrated success working in census development and occupancy management in a nursing home, or other related healthcare facility is required.
• Knowledge of medical jargon, medical insurance reviews and authorizations, and nursing home regulations is required.
• Experience using relevant software, including: PointClickCare, Epic, CarePort, NGS, Availity, Innovalon.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational and conflict resolution skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to analyze data and trends to inform decision-making and strategy development.
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite and admissions software.
• Passion for senior living and skilled nursing industry.
• Able to work independently, multitask, prioritize & problem solve.
• Ability to work remotely.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate bed availability and referral tracking records.
• Process referrals timely and accurately, including clinical and financial evaluations.
• Review clinical eligibility, insurance coverage, payer requirements, prior authorizations, and potential high-cost medications/treatments.
• Ensure required PASRR mental health screenings are completed prior to admission.
• Review referrals and make admission decisions based on facility guidelines and capabilities.
• Meet with prospective residents and representatives, provide facility information, and conduct tours as needed.
• Coordinate equipment, supplies, and other needs for new admissions.
• Ensure admissions, transfers, discharges, and pay status changes are accurately documented in the EHR/CRM.
• Ensure admission paperwork is completed and filed timely according to facility policy.
• Maintain accurate records of referrals, pending admissions, anticipated discharges, hospital discharges, and bed availability.
• Communicate room assignments and admission updates with the interdisciplinary team.
• Identify admission barriers, communicate concerns to the Administrator, and assist in developing solutions.
• Collaborate with physicians, consultants, community agencies, and interdisciplinary team members to support a smooth admissions process.
• Coordinate with appropriate team members to ensure necessary supplies are available for new admissions.
