About The Position

The Assistant Director of Academic Records & Advising in the McCourt School of Public Policy at Georgetown University provides academic support services for 450+ McCourt graduate and undergraduate students as part of the McCourt Academic Advising team and manages the infrastructure in collaboration with the Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs that enables staff to assist McCourt students and faculty. The person in this role supports the McCourt faculty and administration in implementing policies as it relates to student registration, degree progress, and capstone/thesis completion and makes recommendations on student-related issues. The Assistant Director also assumes responsibility for special projects as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience required
  • Previous experience working with students in distress and student information systems, required

Nice To Haves

  • 3 years in higher education advising preferred.
  • experience with graduate academic programs, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an academic advisor across all McCourt academic programs as part of the McCourt Academic Advising team.
  • Manage and enhance tools to assist with tracking student academic progress.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to assist students in reaching completion of their academic program, whether through school-wide initiatives or individual cases.
