About The Position

We are seeking a positive, proactive leader committed to making a difference in the lives of victims and survivors of domestic violence. This role requires a highly organized professional with strong communication skills and the ability to manage a large, multifaceted program with diverse funding sources and priority areas. Position may be eligible for bonus! Unity House is a Rensselaer County-based human service agency that provides a wide range of services to meet the otherwise unmet needs of people in our community who are hurting and struggling. We assist those who are living in poverty, adults living with mental illness or HIV/AIDS, victims of domestic violence, and children with developmental delays. We work to achieve social justice in our community and to create a better understanding of those we serve. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working with victims/survivors of domestic violence
  • Minimum of 5 years’ supervisory and administrative experience
  • Valid New York State driver’s license with acceptable driving record
  • Reliable transportation
  • Availability to respond to calls during weekends and overnight as needed

Responsibilities

  • Ensure delivery of high-quality, trauma-focused care to all clients in the non-residential program
  • Develop and implement innovative programming to meet the evolving needs of survivors
  • Supervise and support a team of advocates and managers
  • Provide ongoing guidance, coaching, and professional development to staff
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and agency requirements
  • Oversee program budgets, expenses, and purchasing
  • Provide site coverage and operational support as needed
  • Represent the agency at community meetings and collaborative initiatives
  • Conduct trainings for community partners and agency staff
  • Foster a culture of inclusion, equity, and belonging
