The Assistant Mental Health Director is responsible for the provision of mental health services. This role involves overseeing and managing a team of psychologists and Qualified Mental Health Professionals within the prison system, ensuring recruitment, selection, training, and supervision align with contractual requirements. The position requires active participation in meetings with the ADC and engagement in system-wide Continuous Quality Improvement initiatives. Key duties include leading case conferences for special needs inmates, providing administrative supervision to various mental health professionals, and managing all facets of mental health services within correctional facilities, encompassing outpatient programs, day treatment, residential treatment units, behavioral management units, forensic evaluation, and civil commitment.
