The Daniels College of Business (DCB) offers a variety of baccalaureate, graduate, PhD and certificate programs which are detailed at https://daniels.du.edu/ Position Summary Reporting to the Senior Program Director, this position assists in the delivery of an excellent and seamless experience for MBA students at the Daniels College of Business. This position is responsible for providing outstanding candidate/student/alumni experiences, as well as class operations and student support. Duties include, but are not limited to, coordination of tasks, collaboration with other departments within and outside of Daniels and communication with students, faculty and staff. This role has responsibility for the integration of all MBA student experiences with a primary focus on the Professional MBA and Online MBA. The outcome of this position should ultimately be a high sense of an engaged MBA student/alumni community.

  • 3+ years of customer service/event planning/administrative experience.
  • Ability to travel 2-4 times per year, including possible international travel.
  • Ability to work some weekends and evenings based on program needs.

Responsibilities

  • Class Operations and Student Support
  • Be a key student and faculty resources on class nights.
  • Oversee Canvas management for all academic and cohort courses.
  • Proofread class/professor schedule, cross-referencing with schedule archives, managing changes with MBA Programs Administrative Assistant and/or Daniels’ scheduler.
  • Oversees book orders/purchases and library reserve system for all classes.
  • Oversees the catering schedule for classes and/or co-curricular programming.
  • Manage student employee on class days to provide outstanding operations and student support.
  • Current and Prospective Student Engagement
  • Write, design and distribute weekly student newsletters to ensure students are aware of critical program information, job/internship opportunities, and the wide range of activities/events available to them at Daniels.
  • Develop, plan, and execute co-curricular programming throughout the academic year.
  • Plan and execute quarterly networking events for all MBA students.
  • Lead class visit program for prospective students including coordination with Graduate Admissions team to create visit registration page, proactive communication with prospects before and after visits, coordination with faculty and student ambassadors, and oversee visit information sessions.
  • Represent MBA programs with Graduate Admissions team at on and off campus recruitment events and support ongoing recruitment efforts with phone calls and outreach to prospective students
  • Lead onboarding efforts for and engages with incoming students to minimize melt and ensure a smooth transition.
  • Lead orientation/launch experience for all MBAs and collaborate with Student Success to ensure a smooth integration with college-wide orientation events.
  • Manage the Cohort Leader selection process, as well as interface with Cohort Leaders to monitor the cohort experience and manage regularly scheduled Cohort Leader meetings. Also coordinates with Graduate Admissions to recommend Graduate Student Ambassadors each year.
  • Plan and execute graduation celebration experiences, including clip out ceremony and post academic hood receptions for all MBA students every Fall and Spring quarter. Represent MBA team at college wide graduation activities.
  • Lead student retention process for inactive and Leave of Absence students.
  • Lead student awards process by collecting nominations from students and faculty, ordering and presenting awards.
  • In partnership with Daniels Careers, actively contribute to the development of MBA career services strategy and execution.
  • Understand DU policies and support services such as the DU Honor Code, Student Rights and Responsibilities and Reporting, Health and Counseling, Pioneers Cares, Advocacy Services (CAPE) and Title IX; appropriately utilizes and ensures students are educated on these resources.
  • Co-lead student-alumni MBA Mentorship Program, including soliciting student and alumni engagement, mentor matches, and follow-up survey.
  • Assist MBA Experientials team with the development and execution of domestic and global experientials; including ensuring timely promotion to students and attendance at and on ground logistical support. May require local, domestic or international travel.
  • Leads the development, delivery and analysis process for all program surveys to current students and alumni.
  • MBA Alumni Engagement
  • Collaborate with the Director of Alumni Engagement and Corporate and Community Relations teams to engage alumni throughout the year through events, panels, and other efforts.
  • Plan and execute networking events for MBA alumni.
  • Facilitate alumni connections across programs for current and prospective MBA students.
  • In conjunction with MBA leadership, actively participate in the development of new alumni engagement strategies, including the formation of an alumni advisory board.
  • Responsible for ensuring MBA alumni information is accurately captured in Salesforce, including cohort information, graduation date, areas of expertise and engagements.
  • Coordinate with DU and Daniels alumni relations to keep alumni rosters up to date.
  • Stays connected with alumni and up to date on alumni news; shares updates with MBA teams and Director of Alumni Engagement to identify opportunities for alumni stories, opportunities for engagement in classrooms
  • Team Collaboration
  • Provides cross-functional oversight of the MBA Programs Student Engagement Manager, supporting priority setting and feedback.
  • Collaborate with MBA team and other college teams and committees on the execution of the Dean’s Strategic Plan initiatives and imperatives.
  • Assist in managing program budget.
  • Provide current student and alumni data to rankings team when requested.
  • Serve on campus or college committees as requested.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Program Director.
