About The Position

UCF Advancement & Partnerships seeks candidates for multiple Assistant Directors, Leadership Annual Giving. The Assistant Director for Leadership Annual Giving plays a critical role in growing mid-level philanthropic giving at UCF, with a primary focus on engaging alumni donors. This role builds and manages a portfolio of donors, identifies new giving prospects, and partners with colleges across the university to turn alumni affinity into meaningful, ongoing support. We are currently hiring four of these positions, each embedded within and supporting a different college. Colleges include: College of Nursing and College of Health Professions and Sciences, College of Sciences, College of Engineering and Computer Science, College of Community Innovation and Education.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).
• All applicants must be authorized to work for any U.S. employer.
• Visa sponsorship is not available for this position, and the university cannot accommodate H‑1B transfers or employment-based visa processing for individuals currently sponsored by another employer.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in fundraising, annual giving, or donor relations, ideally within higher education or a nonprofit setting.
• Demonstrated success managing a donor portfolio and meeting solicitation or revenue goals.
• Experience with prospect research or donor identification and qualification.
• Comfort with face-to-face donor visits and relationship-based fundraising.
• Experience partnering with internal stakeholders or academic units to align fundraising strategy with organizational goals.
• Familiarity with donor or constituent relationship management (CRM) systems such as Blackbaud CRM, Raiser's Edge, or Salesforce.
• Ability to effectively communicate, handle multiple priorities, and handle the pressure of deadlines.
• Experience recruiting or managing volunteers in a fundraising or engagement capacity.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with donors.
• Able to travel, attend and conduct meetings and events on and off campus, and make presentations before large and small groups.

Responsibilities

• Cultivating, soliciting and stewarding leadership level annual gifts.
• Conducting face-to-face visits with leadership annual giving donors and prospects.
• Managing and retaining a portfolio of donors by cultivating relationships through consistent outreach and personal visits to build affinity and grow their philanthropy to the university.
• Identifying new prospects through strategic discovery processes to increase the number of alumni that contribute to the university at a leadership level.
• Collaborating with assigned colleges to develop and execute on annual and long-term strategic goals that connect alumni and build their affinity to solicit philanthropic contributions.
• Developing meaningful touch points for cultivation and stewardship through collaboration with Alumni Engagement and other university partners by recruiting and enlisting volunteer leaders to assist in engagement activities.
