About The Position

The Assistant Director of Information Technology & Continuous Improvement supports the University’s operational infrastructure through work in system administration, process improvement, records management, data governance, and emerging technology (AI) initiatives. The role contributes to Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) efforts by analyzing workflows, implementing operational enhancements, and supporting institutional effectiveness through data-informed decision making. The position also assists with the governance and administration of enterprise systems, institutional records and policy libraries, and the responsible evaluation and adoption of AI-driven technologies. Working closely with the Director and CIO, the role provides cross-functional support for strategic initiatives related to accreditation, asset management, information systems, and institutional operations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) initiatives across the University by analyzing workflows, identifying inefficiencies, implementing process enhancements, and measuring outcomes against defined KPIs.
  • Assist in system administration and implementation functions including software management, identity and access controls, endpoint management, performance monitoring, and business continuity planning to ensure reliability and security of institutional systems. These systems include but are not limited to: ArchivesSpace, Presto, OnBase, LibGuides.
  • Assist in the evaluation, implementation, and governance of AI-driven technologies and automation solutions to enhance service delivery, optimize operational performance, and ensure responsible and secure adoption of emerging technologies.
  • Assist with developing, implementing, and monitoring University-wide Records Retention Schedule, policies and procedures. Help deliver records stewardship program initiative, maintain an accurate database of institutional policies & procedures (policy library), digitization efforts, and University records management operations. Manage, process, destroy, digitize, and hold records as needed, and in accordance with the records retention schedule. Deliver cataloged records by request.
  • Help establish and maintain data governance and data security best practices, including policy development, compliance alignment, user training, and safeguarding institutional data assets in accordance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
  • Assist with tasks and projects outlined buy the Director and/or CIO, in a multitude of areas, including but not limited to: process improvement, accreditation, asset management, information systems, project management, and institutional effectiveness.
