About The Position

This role provides leadership, management, and oversight for registered student organization support services, advisor resources, and student organization operations. It involves managing the coordination, education, and processing of student organization registration, event permitting, risk management, on-site event management, officer eligibility, space allocations, and related administrative processes. The position also involves developing and implementing training, resources, consultations, and educational opportunities for student organization leaders and advisors. Additionally, it requires serving as a primary resource for student leaders, advisors, and campus partners regarding student organization policies and procedures, and supporting student organization management systems. A key aspect of the role is to lead, coordinate, and elevate Community and Belonging programs that promote community development, student engagement, involvement, leadership development, and student connection. This includes planning, implementing, supervising, and assessing programs within the Community and Belonging portfolio, such as Speed Friending, individual and group involvement consultations, Break Buddies, MLK campus celebration, and Gator Wellness Day. The role also involves coordinating program timelines, logistics, budgets, staffing plans, marketing needs, risk considerations, and assessment strategies. Furthermore, the position contributes to administrative leadership, supervision, assessment, and strategic operations for the Office of Community and Belonging, including providing supervision and training for staff and student employees. It also involves developing and conducting assessment efforts related to program effectiveness and student satisfaction, and contributing to marketing and communication strategies. The role also includes participation in committees and division-wide initiatives.

Requirements

Master’s degree in appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience or a bachelor’s degree in appropriate areas of specialization and four years of experience.
Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

Provide leadership, management, and oversight for registered student organization support services, advisor resources, and student organization operations.
Manage the coordination, education, and processing of student organization registration, event permitting, risk management, on-site event management, officer eligibility, space allocations, and related administrative processes.
Develop and implement training, resources, consultations, and educational opportunities for student organization leaders and advisors related to leadership development, event planning, budgeting, policy interpretation, risk management, and program assessment.
Serve as a primary resource to student leaders, advisors, and campus partners regarding student organization policies, procedures, systems, and best practices.
Support the coordination and implementation of student organization management systems, including GatorConnect, and maintain accurate records, resources, and operational processes.
Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with campus partners, including Event Services, University Police Department, Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution, venue managers, and other university departments that support student organization activity.
Interpret university policies for students and student organizations relating to the management of programs, contracts, safety, liability and risk management, and fiscal management.
Lead, coordinate, and elevate Community and Belonging programs that promote community development, student engagement, involvement, leadership development, and student connection.
Provide leadership for the planning, implementation, supervision, and assessment of programs within the Community and Belonging portfolio, including but not limited to Speed Friending, individual and group involvement consultations, Break Buddies, MLK campus celebration, Gator Wellness Day, and other emerging initiatives.
Develop and refine programs that foster meaningful student connection, reduce isolation, support leadership development, and increase student engagement across campus.
Coordinate program timelines, logistics, budgets, staffing plans, marketing needs, risk considerations, and assessment strategies to ensure high-quality and sustainable program delivery.
Identify opportunities to create, elevate, and implement new programs that respond to student needs and advance the goals of the Office of Community and Belonging.
Collaborate with campus departments, student leaders, and community partners to strengthen programmatic efforts and expand student participation.
Serve as a resource for event planning and management for students, staff, and faculty as needed.
Assist with budget planning, monitoring, and reporting for events.
Assist in developing and maintaining collaborative relationships in programming efforts with other UF departments, including academic departments.
Assist with administrative leadership, supervision, assessment, and strategic operations for the Office of Community and Belonging.
Provide supervision, training, and support for professional staff, graduate assistants, and student employees assigned to student organization support and community programming functions.
Assist with strategic planning, goal setting, budget planning, financial monitoring, reporting, and resource allocation for assigned programs and services.
Develop, conduct, and analyze assessment efforts related to student organization services, program effectiveness, student satisfaction, learning outcomes, and emerging student needs.
Contribute to comprehensive marketing, communication, and outreach strategies that promote student involvement opportunities, programs, services, and resources.
Stay informed of trends and issues related to student engagement, student organizations, community development, and leadership development; make recommendations for improvements to programs, services, and operational practices.
Contributes to the Division and University through active participation on committees and division-wide initiatives (example opportunities: emergency dean on call, event support team, conduct committee, student welcome events, etc; and other duties as assigned.)
