The Rice Center for STEM Engagement (R-STEM) supports and promotes Rice University's wide-ranging efforts to improve K–12 science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education in all Greater Houston Area school districts. We are proud to serve as the central point of contact for school districts, parents, students, nonprofit organizations, university faculty, and others in the Greater Houston Area regarding various STEM outreach programs and events at Rice. The Assistant Director for Mathematics administers a program or set of programs and is responsible for devising operational plans to achieve the stated goals and objectives for the program(s). This includes administering key functions such as: Teaching and mentoring teachers and students, Development of Mathematics and STEM curriculum, Management of programs, Observation and assessment of teaching and learning, Writing and submission of grant proposals. Ideal candidates should have extensive skills and experience in mathematics education, teaching, and pedagogy.
