About The Position

The Assistant Director, reporting to the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Greek Life, is responsible for the day-to-day administration, supervision, and operational management of eight university Greek managed houses. The Assistant Director advances the mission of the university by fostering a vibrant, safe, and well-maintained Greek residential community. This role directly enhances the student experience and overall campus life through strategic leadership, operational management, and strong partnerships with stakeholders. The role includes oversight of facility maintenance, occupancy management, and helps to ensure timely response to housing concerns by facilitating collaboration with University Housing, Facility Management, vendors, and service providers. This position supports long-term planning discussions related to space needs, capital improvements, and overall facility priorities. Evening and occasional weekend work may be required to support the needs of the Greek residential community. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education.
  • At least one year of professional experience in residence life, specialty housing management, or fraternity and sorority life.
  • Experience with budget management.
  • Experience with the execution and management of contract administration.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in a related field (e.g., Higher Education, Student Affairs, Health Education, Business, or similar) from an accredited institution of higher education.
  • Experience working in or with Greek organizations, such as employment with a fraternity/sorority headquarters or in a university housing or Greek life office.
  • Experience coordinating residential or facility-related maintenance issues.
  • Experience serving in an on-call capacity for emergencies, facilities issues, or crisis response.
  • Background in design, construction, or facilities management, with progressive experience in housing operations, maintenance, or capital project oversight.
  • Experience supervising part-time and/or full-time employees.
  • Coordination of capital improvement projects or similar operational functions.
  • Experience with housing occupancy software (i.e. StarRez).
