About The Position

The Assistant Director provides overall management, direction, coordination, and administration for one or more large social service or care coordination programs serving children and families. The role includes planning, implementing, and evaluating program activities; supervising staff and directing program leadership team members; developing and managing budgets; supporting funding and grant development; and developing and implementing program policies and procedures. The Assistant Director ensures program deliverables are completed on time and within budget by tracking progress toward goals, maintaining quality controls, coordinating activities across the organization, and preparing, reviewing, and submitting accurate reports to RIPIN leadership and funders. RIPIN uses a peer model to support people with special healthcare and education needs across the lifespan. Founded in 1991 by parents of children with special needs, the organization remains peer-led, with a majority of its board and more than three-fourths of its staff being parents or caretakers of loved ones with special needs. RIPIN’s peer professionals help more than 45,000 Rhode Islanders each year navigate healthcare, schools, and other support systems.
