About The Position

This position is located in Northwest Arkansas. The Assistant Director of Facilities for the UAMS NWA Regional Campus System oversees and coordinates various operational functions across campus facilities. This role ensures efficient management of day-to-day operations, including construction projects, maintenance, facility planning, and support services. The Assistant Director collaborates with internal stakeholders to promote safety, optimize processes, and align operational strategies with organizational goals.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Facilities management, business administration, engineering, or related field
• Plus five (5) years of experience in campus operations, facilities management, planning, and design in healthcare
• Strong project management skills with a proven track record of managing complex projects.
• Communication with professional consultants, regulatory agencies, departmental leaders.
• Knowledge of applicable codes and regulations including, NFPA 101 & 99, Arkansas Fire Prevention Code, The Joint Commission and Arkansas Department of Health Regulations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Professional, AutoCAD, Revit
• Knowledge of construction estimating.
• Ability to make sound decisions and judgement while maintaining flexibility to focus on multiple projects at the same time
• Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.

Responsibilities

• Lead readiness and compliance across Joint Commission, CMS, state standards; ensure documentation, action plans, and survey readiness.
• Oversee Life Safety/EOC programs, inspections, risk assessments, and corrective actions.
• Coordinate Emergency Management planning, drills, and business continuity.
• Manage Work Order system for timely maintenance and escalation.
• Direct Environmental Services/Housekeeping, including staffing, cleanliness, infection prevention, QA, and customer service.
• Oversee Clinical Engineering/Biomedical services, equipment maintenance and safety.
• Lead Supply Chain operations: inventory, procurement, distribution, par levels, and vendor relationships.
• Manage contracts and vendors, ensuring performance and accountability.
• Lead teams with clear expectations, metrics, and training.
• Ensure hospital readiness and risk management through rounds and corrective actions.
• Perform other duties as assigned to advance the mission of UAMS.
