Assistant Director, Employer Success

Brandeis UniversityWaltham, MA
$73,400 - $79,700

About The Position

Shape the Future of Career-Ready Education. Are you interested in playing a critical role in the customer success function of the employer engagement team at Brandeis University? We are seeking an Assistant Director, Employer Success. Working alongside colleagues in employer and alumni engagement, this person turns employer and alumni contacts into returning partners who come back to Brandeis because working with us is easy, responsive, and worth their time. When an employer or alum expresses interest in hiring, hosting students, or getting involved you will make sure they are met quickly, guided through the process, and set up for a positive experience. You will also coordinate across Career Services and university partners so each employer's needs reach the right person at the right time, with the larger goal of building lasting partnerships rather than one-time transactions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 3-5 years’ experience required
  • Experience in employer relations, career services, customer success, or a related field; backgrounds in account management, client services, or recruiting coordination also welcome
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent relationships and keep processes moving forward with consistent follow-through
  • Strong organizational skills, including consistent use of CRM tools and tracking systems; familiarity with Handshake or similar career management platforms a plus
  • Ability to coordinate across teams and functions to drive outcomes without having direct authority over every participant
  • Clear, professional communicator in writing, by phone and in person
  • Familiarity with internship compliance and regulations around hiring international students is helpful

Responsibilities

  • Serve as project manager and relationship steward for employer and alumni engagements, keeping logistics smooth, tracking current, and follow-up consistent, whether owning the relationship directly or supporting a colleague who does; check in after hires are made and keep partners engaged.
  • Help employers navigate the hiring process from start to finish, including drafting job and internship descriptions; proactively introduce the full range of engagement options so single conversations grow into lasting partnerships.
  • Know the Brandeis student value proposition well enough to articulate it confidently, including academics, international student talent, and the depth liberal arts graduates bring.
  • Develop working knowledge of internship compliance and regulations around hiring Brandeis students, including international students.
  • Own Handshake from the employer side: help partners create profiles, post jobs and internships, and set up recruiting schedules; monitor active postings, manage applicant bundles, and re-engage employers at the right points in the recruiting calendar; serve as the team's go-to for any employer navigating the platform.
  • Use Handshake data to track student interest by industry and role, support contact identification, and inform team outreach strategy.
  • Keep CRM records current; coordinate across Career Services to ensure employers get timely access to applicants.
  • Build and maintain employer-facing resources, including quick guides to working with Brandeis, job and internship FAQs, and hiring materials that make the process easy for first-time partners.
  • Participate in professional development activities relevant to employer relations and career services, including regional associations and conferences.
  • Share insights from employer interactions with the broader team to inform strategy and outreach.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
