Boston College is seeking an energetic and dedicated Assistant Director of Employer Engagement to join the Career Center team. Reporting to the Associate Director of Employer Engagement, the Assistant Director will cultivate and maintain successful relationships with organizations, alumni, parents, academic and student affairs departments, and other Boston College stakeholders to increase the overall number of employers and meaningful opportunities available to Boston College students for their career development. The Assistant Director is a key relationship builder with existing and future employer partners and is committed to offering superior customer service to ensure positive and successful recruiting and hiring outcomes at Boston College. The Assistant Director must remain current with the employment marketplace including trends, research, and best practices within both the employment community and student populations to ensure that the Career Center is providing opportunities that are properly aligned with students’ interests and pursuits. Responsibilities include conducting proactive outreach to target organizations, developing and implementing an employer partnership strategy for assigned industries and providing programmatic management and support for employer engagement initiatives including (but not limited to) career fairs, networking events, and on-campus and virtual recruiting. Additionally, the Assistant Director will engage in other collaborations with colleagues both within and external to the Career Center to advance the goals and mission of our work. The Assistant Director’s work will be informed by our three-step career development model – Explore, Prepare, Act - which considers the needs of students at each stage of this process. The Center embraces the value of a Jesuit liberal arts education, which prepares students to discern their gifts and talents and how they want to use them to engage the world. Each staff member in the Division of Student Affairs is expected to support division and university-wide initiatives, staff events, and serve on committees as needed.
