About The Position

This role involves overseeing the daily operations of a distribution center, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and compliance. The Assistant Director will lead and mentor a team, maintain a safe working environment, and drive continuous improvement through data analysis and process optimization. A key focus will be on timely and accurate order fulfillment, effective inventory management, and utilizing technology to streamline operations. The position also involves assisting with budget management and cost control.

Requirements

• 5+ years of leadership experience in warehouse, distribution, or logistics operations
• At least 2 years in a senior supervisory or management role
• Strong leadership and people management skills
• Ability to analyze data and drive performance improvements
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
• Proficiency in WMS, ERP, and Microsoft Office Suite
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety best practices

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field
• Experience with lean methodologies or Six Sigma

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily distribution center operations, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
• Lead, mentor, and develop supervisors, team leads, and frontline associates to optimize performance and engagement.
• Maintain a safe working environment by enforcing OSHA standards, company safety policies, and best practices.
• Monitor and analyze KPIs such as order accuracy, on-time shipping, labor utilization, and cost control to drive continuous improvement.
• Identify inefficiencies in workflows and implement solutions to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
• Ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment, working closely with internal teams and external partners to meet service expectations.
• Collaborate with inventory control teams to maintain optimal stock levels and reduce shrinkage.
• Foster a positive work culture through effective communication, recognition programs, and professional development opportunities.
• Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) and data analytics tools to streamline operations and improve decision-making.
• Assist in managing the distribution center’s budget, controlling expenses, and optimizing resource allocation.
