Solaria Labs is Liberty Mutual’s enterprise-wide innovation incubator, partnering across the company to stay at the forefront of disruption and build new products, services, experiences, and capabilities for our customers, agents, partners, and communities. Within Solaria Labs, the Global Risk Solutions (GRS) Incubation team creates protected space to explore, test, and de-risk high-potential opportunities for the GRS business. We partner closely with leaders and teams across strategy, technology, product, underwriting, distribution, marketing, experience, analytics, applied science, operations, and strategic partnerships. Our work is always evolving in response to customer needs, market signals, emerging technologies, and GRS priorities, giving team members the opportunity to contribute across a changing portfolio of customer-facing, agent-facing, partner-facing, operational, digital, and AI-enabled initiatives.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6-8 years relevant work experience required for Assistant Director level
  • Minimum of 7-10 years relevant work experience required for Director I level
  • Expert skills in Excel and PowerPoint
  • This role requires strategic thinking, creative problem solving, business acumen, and technical delivery coordination to shape and incubate innovative concepts
  • Understanding of commercial insurance concepts, underwriting process, and financial metrics
  • Self-starter who takes the initiative to lead their own projects and can set a vision
  • Ability to manage high degrees of complexity and ambiguity
  • Strong collaboration / relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work EST hours required

Responsibilities

  • Partner with key stakeholders across Liberty Mutual to identify opportunities that are aligned to enterprise-level and/or GRS strategic priorities and have the potential to disrupt our business in the future
  • Define incubation opportunities, including hypotheses to test and near- and long-term value
  • Design and incubate new products, services, and tools with the goal to generate new learnings and assets to de-risk and accelerate future investments
  • Partner with key stakeholders to transfer these learnings and assets back to the core business
