About The Position

Provides clinical services and training oversight to ensure quality, ethical, effective care in line with the treatment model of The Counseling Center. Facilitates methods for promoting excellent clinical performance and high-quality clinical services to all clients. Assists the Director in providing clinical supervision, including ensuring compliance with appropriate ethical and accreditation standards. Carries a clinical caseload of clients, including initial triage screening and assessments, risk assessment, crisis management, individual/group/couples counseling, psycho-education, and referrals to campus or community services as appropriate.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in mental health counseling, social work, marriage and family therapy or related field
  • Current Iowa licensure as a mental health therapist or licensed independent social worker
  • At least three years of clinical experience related to counseling or assessment and diagnosis

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with crisis intervention and consultation
  • Experience providing supervision and clinical training in a college counseling center
  • Knowledge of current professional research and best practices related to counseling center operations, clinical services, and clinical training programs
  • An affinity for working in an interdisciplinary team
  • Three years of maintained independent Iowa licensure
