About The Position

Centerstone is seeking an experienced behavioral health leader to serve as our Assistant Director of Adult Community Services in Trenton, Missouri. This role provides operational and clinical leadership for a diverse portfolio of community-based behavioral health programs that support adults with complex mental health needs across the region. The Assistant Director oversees community-based services including Community Psychiatric Rehabilitation (CPR), Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR), DM3700, Community Mental Health Treatment (CMHT), OSMI programs, forensic services, and other community partnerships. This position works closely with program leaders to ensure service excellence, regulatory compliance, staff development, and positive client outcomes. Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Sociology, or a related behavioral health field.
  • Active Missouri licensure as one of the following: LCSW LPC Psychologist PLPC PLCSW
  • Experience leading behavioral health, community mental health, case management, or rehabilitation programs.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Acceptable driving record.
  • Current automobile insurance.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous supervisory or management experience preferred.
  • Experience with program development, performance management, quality improvement, and staff training is highly desired.
  • Strong understanding of adult behavioral health treatment and recovery-oriented services.
  • Knowledge of crisis intervention, trauma-informed care, and family systems approaches.
  • Ability to analyze program performance data and implement operational improvements.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, community partners, and referral sources.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct supervision, coaching, and support to supervisors leading community-based behavioral health teams.
  • Monitor productivity, service delivery, documentation quality, and program performance indicators.
  • Ensure programs maintain compliance with organizational, state, and funding requirements.
  • Foster a trauma-informed and person-centered culture that supports both clients and staff.
  • Assist with recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, and staff development activities.
  • Monitor charting compliance, quality assurance standards, and utilization review requirements.
  • Analyze program data, identify trends, and implement improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in program planning, evaluation, and strategic development efforts.
  • Support contract management, grant initiatives, reporting requirements, and department projects.
  • Collaborate across clinical, operational, and administrative teams to improve service delivery and client outcomes.
  • Assess training needs and develop educational opportunities for staff and supervisors.
  • Deliver ongoing coaching and professional development for community-based teams.
  • Participate in Training of Trainers programs and other organizational training initiatives.
  • Support implementation of evidence-based and best-practice approaches throughout Adult Services.
  • Maintain a limited clinical caseload as needed.
  • Provide individual, family, and group therapy services within the scope of licensure and experience.
  • Participate in client staffing, treatment planning, crisis response, and emergency services activities as needed.
  • Represent Centerstone within the community and with partner organizations.
  • Provide education and outreach to enhance community awareness of mental health services and resources.
  • Strengthen relationships with community stakeholders, referral partners, and service providers.
  • Communicate and support Centerstone's mission, vision, and strategic priorities.
  • Build and maintain high-performing, engaged teams.
  • Lead through collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Champion organizational change and innovation.
