About The Position

The ACC Network team at Virginia Tech aims to produce high-quality broadcasts of Virginia Tech athletics for ESPN platforms. The Assistant Director / ACC Network will contribute to these broadcasts in various capacities, reporting to the Sr. Director / ACC Network. This role involves collaboration with ACC Network and HokieVision staff, and serving as the ACC Network representative in interdepartmental meetings to share relevant information within the Athletics Department.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field with relevant experience, or a master's degree.
  • Experience working in live sports broadcast control room setting.
  • Previous work in various roles for a live broadcast.
  • Experience using Adobe Suite including Photoshop & Premiere or similar products.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours, weekends and holidays.

Nice To Haves

  • Firsthand familiarity with ESPN broadcast standards and practices.
  • Experience working with students.
  • Being able to work independently as well as a part of a team.
  • Previous work with Ross Acuity Switcher/Xpression and/or Evertz Dreamcatcher.
  • Experience shooting interviews and b-roll for features.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute broadcasts of Virginia Tech athletics for ESPN platforms.
  • Participate in broadcasts in various capacities as required.
  • Collaborate with ACC Network and HokieVision staff.
  • Serve as the ACC Network representative in certain sports intradepartmental meetings.
  • Deliver and disseminate relevant information to other parts of the Athletics Department.
