About The Position

Perry Ellis is seeking an Assistant Men's Designer to join the New York Design team in the Knit & Sweater category. The Assistant Men's Designer will be responsible for assisting all parts of the design process, including trend research, preparation of technical packages and seasonal presentation boards, email correspondence, etc. This role reports into the Senior Designer.

Requirements

College degree in Fashion Design or equivalent experience.
One year design experience (may include summer jobs, internships, etc.)
Experience in knits and/or sweaters is preferred

Nice To Haves

Ability to learn how to design through new/advanced technology (Gemini, Fermat etc.)
Ability to design in Browzwear, previous 3D experience a plus
Experience in design or product development in the Men's Contemporary Market
Basic knowledge of product and fabric
Basic knowledge and understanding of garment construction
Basic knowledge of design and color
Ability to perform basic flat sketches
Good organizational and communication skills

Responsibilities

Assist in designing both knits and sweaters for our value channel markets
Assist in recoloring prints and patterns via NedGraphics
Assist with basic specification of product and communicate to Product and Technical design teams
Make revisions to sketches and design packages as needed
Market and trend research
Responsible for 3D rendering in Browzwear
Responsible for creating inspiration boards, boards for sales tools, etc.
