About The Position

The Assistant Designer will contribute to the creation of innovative and commercially viable textile designs, supporting the broader design team in all stages of the product development process. This role requires a blend of creative talent, technical proficiency, and a strong understanding of manufacturing and business needs. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and eager to learn and grow within a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret design inspiration to create original artwork for rugs and curtains across diverse techniques and styles, resulting in unique and customer-centric products.
  • Digitize and manipulate artwork to meet specific product requirements.
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of rugs and curtains construction, materials, and techniques across various categories.
  • Apply color theory principles to product design.
  • Utilize design tools and technology effectively.
  • Strong Communication across the Designers and cross functional partners.
  • Maintaining product integrity from design creation through end stages of approval process.
  • Partner with PD team to ensure accurate design briefs and alignment with vendor capabilities.
  • Assist in the creation of design documents, such as assortment sheets.
  • Support the team with tasks such as pinning boards, organizing design tools, and replenishing supplies.
  • Contribute to the sample and strike-off review process, under manager supervision.
  • Design with consideration for price points and business needs.
  • Maintain an organized and accessible design library and shared workspaces.
  • Deliver information promptly to ensure adherence to deadlines and prevent delays.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives.
