About The Position

This is an Assistant Deli Manager role where the individual will assist the Deli Manager as needed. The position is responsible for the profitability of the deli operation within company policy, in conjunction with the Store Manager. Duties involve both food preparation and food service.

Requirements

  • Experience in food preparation and food service.
  • Ability to manage orders and inventory.
  • Knowledge of kitchen safety and organization.
  • Skills in customer service and employee training.
  • Ability to create schedules and perform administrative tasks.
  • Understanding of labor, gross profit, and supply cost management.
  • Merchandising and pricing skills.
  • Ability to maintain high product quality and presentation standards.
  • Must pass pre-employment background and drug screening.

  • Experience as a deli manager or in a similar leadership role.

Responsibilities

  • Plans and prepares food for customers.
  • Makes out orders and checks received orders.
  • Cleans and organizes the kitchen to prevent safety hazards.
  • Educates deli clerks on food preparation.
  • Shops for food items for the steam table and cases.
  • Takes inventory of all kitchen items and ensures proper storage after use.
  • Pulls and displays fresh product.
  • Ensures employees have started their daily tasks.
  • Creates schedules.
  • Completes all necessary paperwork and takes inventory.
  • Manages labor, gross profit, and supply costs daily to ensure profitability.
  • Merchandises departments for sales and gross profit.
  • Verifies prices, tags, and signs.
  • Works towards maintaining a Full-Fresh-Clean department.
  • Ensures all products are of the highest possible quality.
  • Presents food in an appealing manner.
  • Organizes all food items and utensils.
  • Acts as a team member.
  • Maintains a neat, clean, and organized department.
  • Trains new employees.
  • Provides friendly, courteous, and prompt service to all customers, including greeting, assisting, and responding to inquiries and complaints.
  • Performs other job-related tasks as requested by their supervisor.
