About The Position

The Assistant Deli/Bakery Manager supports the deli/bakery department by delivering friendly guest service, meeting sales and profit goals, maintaining inventory and supplies, and ensuring compliance with merchandising, operational, product-quality, sanitation, and safety standards. The role also guides, trains, and provides feedback to department hosts, performs department operations as needed, and maintains labor and scheduling standards.

Requirements

Ability to work well with others.
Ability to lift 25 pounds consistently and 50 pounds occasionally.
Ability to read and understand information and directions.
Knowledge of deli operations.
Ability to supervise hosts, including training and development.
Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
Effective communication, guest service, and selling skills.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Ability to bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
Ability to communicate effectively with the Store Manager and Merchandiser.
Ability to work well with computers.

Responsibilities

Ensure guests receive polite, friendly service from deli/bakery department hosts.
Achieve budgeted sales, shrink, and profits for the deli/bakery department.
Maintain desired levels of inventory and supplies.
Operate the department according to merchandising and operational guidelines and programs.
Ensure products for sale meet Floco Foods quality standards.
Maintain sanitation and safety throughout the department according to Floco Foods standards.
Provide guidance, orientation, training, and feedback to department hosts to support satisfactory performance.
Perform product preparation, receiving, ordering, stocking, and customer service as necessary to achieve standards.
Maintain the department’s labor budget and scheduling standards.
Perform PA announcements.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
