The Assistant Dean for Finance and Administration for the Fay Jones School of Architecture and Design serves as the school's chief financial officer and a member of the Dean's senior leadership team. This role reports directly to the Dean of the School and indirectly to the University's Vice Provost for Planning. The Assistant Dean advises the Dean on financial strategy, resource allocation, organizational effectiveness, risk management, and long-range planning. This position supports the School's strategic efforts through various functions including budgeting and finance, data management and benchmarking, interpretation and implementation of University policy, procurement support, human resources, IT infrastructure, capital planning, space utilization, and enrollment planning. The Assistant Dean collaborates with the Dean in developing the annual budget for FJSAD and maintains positive working relationships with program units and the campuswide finance team. The role involves analyzing and making recommendations on budget requests and plans in accordance with state and university policy, providing accurate accounting and reporting of financial and human resources, and supporting data analytics for accreditation, program operations, and business optimization. The Assistant Dean also oversees Human Resources for FJSAD, working with the School's HR Partner on human resources strategy, and supervises one full-time financial employee. Additionally, this position has fiscal oversight of the Garvan Woodland Gardens financial affairs staff member and the School's Director of Information Technology.
