Develop, evaluate, and implement funding strategies to meet the wholesale funding needs of Truist that align with risk framework and assist leading the bank funding team. May manage a team. Manage critical day-to-day activities of the funding desk, including working closely with Corporate Treasury Operations to ensure sufficient funds are purchased daily to meet Federal Reserve (FRB) balance targets. Supervise development, execution, and monitoring of short-term funding plan (e.g., Fed Funds, repurchase agreements, institutional CDs, brokered retail CDs, Federal Home Loan Bank (FHLB) Advances, and other short-term funding vehicles. Manage the short-term cash flow process according to Regulation YY (Enhanced Prudential Standards), including forecasting, backtesting, and sensitivity analyses. Assist Head of Corporate Funding in procuring/managing all wholesale deposits, short-term debt, and long-term debt of the bank, to obtain the lowest possible funding cost for the Bank. This includes, but not limited to managing funding mix to meet overall balance sheet objectives, manage term funding programs (e.g., Global Bank Note, FHLB Advances, repurchase agreements, brokered sweep/CD programs) including relationship with counterparties/agents in these programs. Manage, monitor, and maximize wholesale funding channels, including periodic testing of HQLA monetization channels, unsecured instruments, secured borrowings, and securitization. Work with Asset Liability Management (ALM) team to develop funding forecast and strategies that impact overall Net Interest Income (NII) forecast. Work closely with Accounting, Reporting, Tax (ART) to evaluate accounting/tax implications of funding strategies. Prepare independent analyses related to funding strategies including issuance, buyback, and refinance that may be presented to leadership, sub-committees, and executive-level committee (e.g., ALCO). Lead the marginal funding curve (MFC) process executed daily utilized for funds transfer pricing (FTP) and constantly evaluate the funding sources used in the process. Stay current with applicable liquidity, capital, and interest-rate risk (IRR) regulation, including notice of proposed rulemaking (NPR) that impact funding strategies/actions. Work with Liquidity Risk team concerning compliance with new regulations. Ensure internal control procedures are in place for managing funding activities and support the maintenance of Corporate Funding procedures and process flows that align with risk-control self-assessment objectives.
