About The Position

Position Summary : The Manager, Indirect Funding oversees the operations of the funding department, ensuring timely and accurate completion of contract verification processes in compliance with state and federal regulations, as well as company policies. This role collaborates with dealers, underwriters, funders, and leadership to resolve any concerns and issues while continuously evaluating and refining loan processes for optimal efficiency. The incumbent is responsible for developing, mentoring, and coaching the funding team to meet departmental and organizational objectives.

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 3+ years of experience in Indirect Funding operations or comparable experience in a related field and knowledge of financial services.
  • 2+ years in management or leadership role.
  • A thorough understanding of consumer lending regulations such as the Equal Credit Opportunity Act (Regulation B) and Truth in Lending (Regulation Z).

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily workflow of the loan funding and servicing functions.
  • Build and maintain relationships with participating Indirect dealers including promoting the Credit Union as the preferred lending source, presenting difficult funding exception issues in a positive relationship building manner, and assuring prompt, courteous service.
  • Responsible for training, developing and mentoring the Indirect Funding team to meet departmental and organizational objectives.
  • Develop and maintain Indirect Funding policies, procedures and processes.
  • Ensure accurate and efficient onboarding, funding, file maintenance and documentation on all Indirect loans.
  • Ensure stipulations and conditions of loans have been reviewed and are acceptable by credit union guidelines.
  • Review documents for potential fraud; communicate suspected fraud and/or discrepancies to Management and appropriate credit union leaders.
  • Interact with dealers, members, and/or credit union staff to obtain missing or invalid information and documentation to complete funding processes.
  • Responsible for managing Dealertrack, Route One, Dealertrack TMS, FIS, BMV systems, and other software and vendors used by the Indirect Department.
  • Configure Indirect dealers in department systems including programming in the LOS.
  • Maintain dealer files, contracts, and agreements, perform regular due diligence on active dealers, and update Dealer information and contacts as they change.
  • Manage the reserve payouts and charge back to dealers.
  • Perform Dealer Sales calls with the Indirect Relationship Managers with a focus on training dealers on proper processes for delivering complete and accurate loan funding packages.
  • Monitor and audit funding activities to ensure staff are in compliance with established credit union policies and procedures.
  • Assist and work closely with other business units on collection of outstanding vehicle titles, delinquent loans, loan servicing issues, fraud files and other issues as needed.
  • Work with Management to develop strategies to ensure departmental and organizational goals are met.
  • Responsible for assisting Indirect Lending staff with creating and keeping the loan origination system functioning as expected.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned to assist with the growth of the credit union and the Indirect Lending department.
