About The Position
VCU Tappahannock Hospital, formerly Riverside Tappahannock Hospital, is dedicated to advancing healthcare in its community and surrounding counties. Located on the Middle Peninsula, the hospital serves the Northern Neck region. As a satellite facility of VCU Health Medical Center, it provides essential services including Emergency, Critical Care, Operating Room, and Acute Care Units. The Assistant Cook works under the supervision of Supervisors, Manager, and/or Director. This role involves preparing hot food, portioning and delivering food items according to therapeutic nutritional guidelines, completing production sheets, assisting with cafeteria service, and maintaining a clean workstation. The position requires the ability to provide age-appropriate meals and nourishments and to promote a safe work environment, incorporating national patient safety initiatives.
Requirements
- Previous food service experience
- Must have basic addition and subtraction skills
- Physical Lifting 20-50 lbs.
- Pushing carts up to 50 lbs.
