Requirements

  • Approximately 3-5 years of experience in the alternative asset industry.
  • Experience in a client-facing role leading engagements on multiple clients.
  • In-depth understanding of US GAAP and partnership accounting, including complex allocation waterfalls.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems such as Xero or Quickbooks.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Passion for mentoring and coaching team members.
  • Willingness to "roll up your sleeves" and help the team when needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Venture Capital and/or Private Equity experience is preferred.
  • External auditor experience / CPA certification / MBA a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the main-point-of-contact for multiple clients, managing workflow and coordination of work amongst Aduro team members.
  • Set up and run recurring client check-in calls to discuss current status, open items, and upcoming operational needs.
  • Respond to ad-hoc client requests thoughtfully and professionally, adhering to Aduro processes and industry best practices (within 24 hours).
  • Reconcile banking transactions, prepare journal entries, and maintain general ledgers in accordance with US GAAP in the accounting system (Xero), including oversight of junior team members.
  • Drive the month-end close process and raise follow-up questions to the Senior Controller, Controller, or client.
  • Reconcile and maintain investment information for all fund investments.
  • Prepare and/or review quarterly financial statements, including partners’ capital allocations.
  • Utilize proprietary investment management database (FundPanel) to send investor correspondence (capital contributions, distributions, quarterly reporting).
  • Update FundPanel for fund activity and investments.
  • Coordinate the preparation of audit materials by the team and manage year-end financial statement audit and tax work.
  • Use a risk-based approach to effectively delegate tasks to junior members and review their work.
  • Proactively seek opportunities to assist the Senior Controller and/or Controller and gain exposure to more complex or higher risk tasks.
  • Take ownership and responsibility for personal growth and development by identifying training needs and utilizing available resources.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to junior team members and assist the Senior Controller/Controller by identifying training needs within the team.
