About The Position

Ralik, a division of Imperial Dade Canada, leading national distributor, has a job open in Blainville. This position is responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate financial reporting for Imperial Dade Canada Inc., in accordance with GAAP. The position will develop and monitor compliance with accounting policies and provide accounting guidance to ensure accuracy in reporting and compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and accounting policies. General Purpose: Under general supervision, this position is responsible for general ledger journal entries, month-end close procedures, and analyzing balances in accounts for appropriateness. This position performs account reconciliations and is required to have detailed knowledge of assigned general ledger accounts and their contents. This position is required to meet all scheduled monthly financial reporting and provide accurate and timely analysis and research as needed. Requirements

  • Bilingual (English & French). Employee needs to be able to communicate with the head office, outside vendors, and suppliers etc.
  • 5 to 6+ years of relevant, progressive accounting experience.
  • Advanced understanding and proficiency of US or local GAAP and general accounting principles.
  • Must be a self-starter, results driven, and capable of working autonomously with minimal supervision.
  • Able to work in a dynamic environment.
  • Positive and professional demeanor, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and ability to interact effectively with a variety of team members in various departments.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills including pivot tables.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Access, PowerPoint, and Word.

Responsibilities

  • Frequent interaction with personnel throughout the Company.
  • Perform analysis and review of large volumes of transaction level data to ensure proper accounting.
  • Participate in month-end activities, including review of journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Review financial results for completeness by preparing various reports, schedules, and reconciliations.
  • Contribute to the accounting processes between business units and assist in the implementation of best practices, mitigation of risks and cost control.
  • Support various audits by providing accounting documents, schedules, and other relevant information.
  • Support the budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Review deliverables prepared by staff
  • May supervise and develop one or more junior employees in assigned accounting area(s). Includes the planning, organizing, and reviewing of work; assisting in the employee evaluation process; and counseling with the assistance of a manager.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Enforce compliance with Imperial Dade Canada’s Accounting and Reporting Guidelines, US GAAP and Internal Controls over Financial Reporting and Accounting.
  • Support the implementation of new company standards and policies and participate in other initiatives related to assigned position.
  • Perform related duties and responsibilities.
