About The Position

As a member of the Traverse City accounting team, the Assistant Controller will be responsible for supporting the Plant Controller with the consolidation of financial metrics, asset management, and data analysis to ensure accurate and timely reporting of key financial information to management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or other related fields
  • 3-5 years of accounting or finance experience
  • Proficient understanding of Microsoft products primarily Excel, Word, and Power Point
  • Self-motivated individual with a high level of organization and time management when dealing with multiple competing priorities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively and contribute positively to a team-oriented environment.
  • Experience utilizing ERP systems, such as SAP, QAD, or similar platforms to support business and financial processes.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with HFM / Hyperion Planning / SmartView
  • Experience in the Automotive Industry

Responsibilities

  • Consolidation of divisional/business unit financials
  • Responsible for financial reporting including analyzing key information for internal and external users
  • Assist and monitor in the monthly close, forecast, budget, long-range planning processes
  • Analyze and review monthly financial data to ensure the close and forecast process was completed properly
  • Review historical monthly income statements and balance sheets to accurately forecast future balances
  • Analyze financial data to assist in the preparation of financial deliverables to key members of leadership
  • Monitor and support CAPEX and tooling projects to maintain alignment with approved budgets and project objectives
  • Partner with the Lear Traverse City team and other key stakeholders to complete an efficient and seamless month-end close process
  • Implement and maintain proper internal controls and procedures
  • Research and resolve accounting issues with financial and operating departments
  • Develop strong relationships with other departments and divisions to effectively complete tasks
  • Collaborate closely with cross-function teams, including Maintenance, Sales, Tooling, Production and Engineering to support operational and financial objectives
